Hello! I'm Colby Brumit, an American artist and graphic designer.
I have a permanent obsession with visual culture and love to find inspiration in the world around me. My most recent works are collage studies where I combine, decay, alter, and remix selected images from my digital library. It's my challenge as an artist to figure out how seemingly-random content can merge into a new aesthetic form. I like to discover old media (found books, photos, fabric, clip art, ephemera, cereal boxes—you name it) and give it new life.
My aesthetic DNA: Pee-Wee's Playhouse, Andy Warhol, Barbara Kruger, Tom Tierney, Mariko Mori, Pagan Kennedy, Pierre et Gilles... to name a few.
